👨🚀 Project Hail Mary 6 May 2023
Project Hail Mary was recommended to be by my husband and it ended up being my Wheel of Time come down book. I needed to hop onto something quickly because the hole left behind in my book heart was pretty huge and Project Hail Mary did the trick!
I found the style of writing to be pretty unique although I haven't read any of Andy Weir's other novels. I really enjoyed having to read more and more to discover who "me" actually is and that the author created a rich and enhanced feeling of waking up after a deep sleep, where there are immediate things you remember before your own name or who you are. I also thoroughly enjoyed the scientific anecdotes and quick digressions that may not be all entirely 100% true but were very entertaining. And of course, having a docile and very human, human meeting an alien for the first time was awesome! My typical chain of thought for first alien contact is fear and aggression. Obviously, there is a lot of sci-fi that doesn't go that route but this felt a lot more realistic than, for example, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy Private or Broken Links

(as fun and adored as those books are).
I wouldn't necessarily re-read Project Hail Mary but in terms of entertaining, relatively straightforward, and well-written sci-fi, I really enjoyed it!
